John Walker is a Marvel Comics character known as U.S. Agent. He was originally introduced as Super-Patriot, a physically enhanced individual promoting American ideals, often in stark contrast to Captain America.
Walker was later selected by the U.S. government to replace Steve Rogers as Captain America after Rogers resigned due to disagreements with government oversight. Walker, while possessing enhanced strength and agility similar to Rogers, was far more aggressive and ruthless in his methods.
His tenure as Captain America was controversial and marked by violence and brutality. After his unsuitability for the role became apparent, he was stripped of the Captain America title. He was subsequently re-designated as U.S. Agent.
